Blair Irwin, MD, MBA
Ms. Irwin, in her final year at UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, has worked with the Center on a number of projects. At Robert Wood Johnson Medical School she has received honors with distinction in service to the community as well as from the Dermatologic Society for her efforts in dermatologic research.
Most recently at the Center for Value-Based Medicine, she was able to complete clinical quality-of-life analyses in Accra, Ghana in conjunction with clinical work for Unite for Sight. The opportunity to compare and contrast assessments in a developing nation with those in the USA, Canada, Great Britain and other industrialized nations is of great help toward understanding similarities and differences among cultures worldwide.
Ms. Irwin earned an MBA at Harvard University in 2005 and is a Candidate for Masters in Health Sciences at Harvard after graduating from Princeton University in 2000. She has participated in research at the Massachusetts General Hospital doing collaborative dermatologic research as well as at Princeton and Stanford Universities collaborating on basic science initiatives.
Her work experience is diverse including corporate and marketing development for Genzyme, Inc. and at Genentech, Inc. evaluating and devising pricing strategies for multiple pharmaceutical agents. Time spent at Perseus-Soros BioPharmaceutical Fund and J.P. Morgan Chase H & Q afforded her the opportunity to conduct due diligence on biotechnological companies for potential investments and valuation analyses in the healthcare sector.
Ms. Irwin’s experience and efforts in the biopharmaceutical and technological areas as well as business and finance backgrounds are strong adjuncts to our staff at the Center.
